Phil Boyle

Director

Before being named President & CEO of Suffolk Regional OTB (SROTB), Phil Boyle served for 26 years as a Member of the New York State Legislature; 16 years as a state assemblymember and ten years as a state senator. Prior to his tenure in Albany, Phil served as a senior congressional staff person in Washington D.C. for five years, including as the first Chief of Staff for former Long Island Congressman Rick Lazio.

From 2014 through 2018, Phil served as Chairman of the State Senate Committee on Commerce, Economic Development, & Small Business. As Chair, Phil worked to ensure that the voice of business was being heard in Albany and was committed to finding ways to make New York more business friendly. Phil was also a leader on such diverse issues as advancing the use of forensic crime-fighting technologies; combating the heroin and opioid epidemic; and protecting animals from abuse.

Phil currently volunteers in numerous capacities, including service on the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association (LIA) and the United Veterans Beacon House (UVBH). He is also an active, 27-year member of the Great River Fire Department.

Phil obtained his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University; and his master’s degree in public administration from the State University of New York at Albany.
